Reports to: Managing Director

Job Summary: The Programme Director will be responsible for developing the annual Summit
and other events – building the global position of the Foundation and the businessworthy
concept. Key responsibilities include identifying relevant and interesting themes and topics,
recruiting high quality speakers, and ensure a successful execution.

 
Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop a profile for the Business for Peace Summit to build its position as the main
    international meeting place for value-based, purpose-driven business leaders
  • Plan and manage the content development for different events from inception through
    execution, on time and within budgets
  • Find ideas, themes and topics of relevance to international business leaders
  • Recruit excellent, high-level speakers, and ensure close dialogue and good preparations
  • Lead the programme committee meetings with external partners, and liaise with other parts
    of the Foundation’s network to maximise the contributions of topics and speakers
  • Liaise with event agency and colleagues to develop and innovate platforms and concept of
    the Summit and other events
  • Take part in other areas of the Foundation’s work as relevant and required
  • Ensure sufficient capacity for the programme activities through engagements of volunteers,
    interns and additional staff

Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Higher education, international experience an advantage
  • Minimum 6-8 years’ relevant work experience from similar organisations or events
  • Content development experience from business or academic events preferable
  • Understanding of developments in international business, the sustainability landscape and
    key drivers of change, including the role of technology and finance
  • Excellent English skills, oral and written. Good understanding of Norwegian preferable
  • Strong communication skills, international experience preferable
  • Excellent collaboration skills, ability to think strategically and innovatively
  • Willingness to execute day-to-day
    tasks, work independently and get the job done
  • Leadership capabilities for managing a team of interns and volunteers
  • Good project management and problem solving skills, and an ability to work under pressure
